DREAMS SHATTERED IN THE CITY OF DREAMS – MUMBAI - 26/11

Thought to write a blog several times in past – when Lehman collapsed, when world  economy went into deep recession, - but did not know that I would start a blog with this kind of topic!!!!  Emotions have mounted so much that I had to pen it down today.

DREAMS SHATTERED IN THE CITY OF DREAMS – MUMBAI - 26/11
This is one of the worst terror attacks in India- an incident which have put a big question mark on the security system in India. India, who has been seen as a messenger of peace, is fighting hard to find peace.

26/11 – is this India’s 9/11? Perhaps worse than that.
who knew that while dining in five-star hotels like Taj and Oberoi he would meet his final destination? Who knew that a tour to India would be a final journey of his life.....perhaps no body might have imagined all this. But this is unfortunately a reality....a truth which is really bitter. The attack shattered dreams of lots of people.........left millions of people in fear, anger and pain.
The motives are clear that they want to shatter the city of dreams which has given meaning to dreams of millions. But what are we doing to prevent it? India has been warned twice about the sea attacks...what measures were taken? And, if any measures were taken, why we were not able to prevent the biggest mishaps ever. Are our systems so paralyzed? Why there was no information to our police and ministers about it? Why the states are not equipped with NSG commandos, why do we need to call them from centre and wait for 6-7 hours for them to arrive and save people.
There are lots and lots of questions arising in every person’s mind but are there any answers to them? After such attacks , government conduct meetings, media talks about the incident big time, promises are made to prevent such kind of attack in future, but ultimately what happens? Everybody returns to their normal routine and forget it soon. But should we forget everything this time also?  Its a threat to India and it should be taken very seriously. Steps should be taken to prevent such kind of attacks and policemen should also be given commando training. Military training should be made a mandate in the schools and states should keep their own NSG commandos team. Our politicians should stop blame game and be united at this dark hour.
